Chandrababu Promises Zero Power Tariff Hike

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that there will be no increase in power tariff and that the benefits arising from true down charges will be passed directly to consumers.

Addressing ministers and senior officials at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to protecting consumers from additional financial burden. He directed officials to ensure that true down adjustments are transferred directly to power users without delay.

The Chief Minister said the state, which once faced power shortages, is now moving steadily towards becoming power surplus. He also revealed that efforts are underway to bring down the power purchase cost to Rs 3.90 per unit.

He instructed officials to speed up renewable energy projects, including solar rooftop systems, wind power, and pumped storage generation. Power generation, he said, should move towards the goal of net zero elimination.

The government’s focus is on improving efficiency in power management while keeping tariffs stable. The Chief Minister stressed that consumers must benefit from better planning and cost control measures in the energy sector.

With a strong push for renewable energy and better pricing strategies, the state aims to ensure reliable and affordable electricity for households, farmers, and industries without any tariff hike.
