Undavalli Arun Kumar has once again come before the media with sharp comments on the Andhra Pradesh government. Once known as a close aide of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Undavalli has, over the years, extended support to YS Jagan on several occasions. Whether he openly backs Jagan or not, he has consistently criticised Chandrababu Naidu and his administration in many of his press meets.
Now, Undavalli has once again appeared in support of Jagan and the YSR Congress. He visited former minister Ambati Rambabu at Rajahmundry Central Jail, where Ambati is currently on remand.
After the meeting, Undavalli questioned the way the government handled the case. He suggested that filing multiple cases against Ambati and sending him to central jail shows political bias. He pointed out that in some serious incidents involving violence, the accused reportedly received station bail, while in this case stricter action was taken.
Undavalli said he has known Ambati for a long time and met him out of personal connection. At the same time, he hinted that such actions could politically benefit Ambati by creating public sympathy.
He also spoke about the controversy related to the alleged adulteration of ghee used in temple laddus. Referring to investigation reports, he said there was no proof of animal fat in the ghee. Despite that, he criticised the continued allegations being made on the issue.
Undavalli added that he would soon hold a detailed press meet to explain his stand further. Once again, his comments clearly showed his opposition to Chandrababu Naidu’s government and his willingness to question its decisions.
