KTR’s Women Empowerment, Only For Lectures?

KTR was once the Poster Boy of Hyderabad’s Cosmopolitan Culture. He effectively used Social Media to connect with the youth and with his supreme power in the then KCR Government, everything around him would appear fancy.

With Power, the celebrities from the film industry and corporate world would sing praises about him. So, he enjoyed absolute popularity on social media.

But then, KTR appeared vulnerable once out of Power. All the social media Hungama is gone. Every now and then, he is being trolled as well.

It happened again and this time, it is about his speech at Women’s College in Hyderabad.

Addressing the female students in the college, KTR gave a long speech about women empowerment, how equality should begin at home, and also asked young women to consider entering politics and having a public life.

The videos are going viral on social media but for wrong reasons.

People are questioning KTR about how his sister Kavitha was discriminated against and why she had to leave the party. They are questioning why KCR did not give equal opportunities to Kavitha like KTR.

They are reminding how Kavitha was always sent to Parliament or Council but never to the Assembly with an intention to ensure she is not a competition to KTR in his Political Legacy.

They are also questioning why KTR did not condemn when Kavitha was abused in Politics in recent times. In the speech there, KTR said, “In 2027, India will have its first woman CJI Nagarathna Garu and that will be after 80 years of Independent India”.

That particular clip is also going viral.

People are questioning why Kavitha cannot be Telangana’s First Woman Chief Minister. They are also reminding KTR of his father’s cabinet. In his first term, KCR did not have a woman minister for the entire term.

After getting re-elected in 2018, there was no woman in the cabinet until September 2019. That means in his nine years term, KCR did not have a woman minister for approximately 5 years and 3 months.
