Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with a fire accident that occurred in the capital city of Amaravati. After gathering technical evidence, Tullur police detained Ramkumar, a watchman.
They are currently interrogating him regarding the causes behind the incident.
It is a known fact that a massive fire broke out around 11:00 PM on Monday near the bungalows of Principal Secretaries, located close to Rayapudi within the capital region. Locals and company staff alerted the police after flames suddenly erupted when pipes—stored by Megha Engineering Company, which is engaged in the capital’s construction works—caught fire.
Police personnel, along with three fire tenders, successfully brought the blaze under control.
After back to back such fire accidents in the Capital when the works are gaining pace, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ordered a SIT Investigation.
