Amaravati’s Big Day Tomorrow: It’s YCP MPs Turn!

One of the most significant and legally binding developments in connection with the capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati is going to happen in the Indian Parliament tomorrow, and the stage is being prepared for the same.

The earlier resolution that named Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, which was approved by the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on March 28 is going to be presented in the Parliament on April 1.

It is being established in principal that the union home ministry has sent this resolution to the speaker of the Parliament Om Birla’s office, and it is likely to come to discussion tomorrow.

The chances are that the Amaravati resolution is likely to be passed unanimously in the parliament in the best interests of the Andhra Pradesh public.

But this brings us back to the question about YCP policy on this Amaravati prospect. Considering the fact that YCP MPs will be present in the parliament tomorrow, would they actually pledge their unity and vote in favour of the resolution? Or will they strategically stay away from this and indirectly confirm that the party is still against Amaravati? We will know in around 24 hours from now.

It needs to be noted that the verdict of the 4 YCP MPs in the Parliament will not have any impact on the passing of this bill considering the overwhelming support of the NDA alliance. But this could be a litmus test to the stance of YCP on this crucial Amaravati resolution.
