The previous YS Jagan government in Andhra Pradesh, replaced the Haritha resorts in Rushikonda Vizag with a luxurious construction of the palace like structure. It was reported that Jagan planned to move to this luxurious construction if he became the CM again in 2024, but that did not happen and the building is standing worthless these days.
In an attempt to generate whatever resources possible from this Palace, the government had recently constituted a Cabinet sub committee led by minister Kandula Durgesh and here is what he had to say on the same today.
The cabinet minister pointed out that a report has been prepared on possible utilisation plan of this Rushikonda Palace, and it will be presented in front of CM Chandrababu soon. A comprehensive plan will be designed to utilise this lavish construction and a communication will be made correspondingly.
According to social media reports, the government is having to spend ₹25 lakhs per month on bills and maintenance here. Including all the miscellaneous expenses, the government is having to churn out Rs 3 crore just to uphold this building. This is incomplete, contrast to the previous Haritha resort, which was reportedly generating ₹7 crore income per year to the government.
It has been nearly 2 years since the formation of the NDA government and it is shocking to see this RushiKonda Palace mystery still continuing to perturb the authorities on its purpose and use.
