Food Adulteration Busts: Game Changer for Revanth?

One of the most ignored and underreported issues in the current system is the food adulteration and hygiene practices. Not many governments have been placing active emphasis on this matter, which is the reason why we see poorly maintained eateries almost entirely across India.

The situation has been particularly detrimental in Hyderabad, which is regarded for its rich cuisine and high meat consumption. There have been several complaints about lack of basic hygiene and usage of rotten meat in food preparations.

But over the last decade, also very little emphasis was placed on food inspection and hygiene checks. But that is not the case now as Revanth Reddy government is going particularly hard on this matter.

A special task force was commissioned by the authorities to carry out food inspection across Hyderabad, and this has been working brilliantly. Almost every week, there are cases of this task force identifying and seizing properties preparing fake Paneer, ginger garlic paste, samosas, and rotten meat.

Several dozen of these adult food preparation centres across Hyderabad have been seized till now, and the ground work is continuing on a daily basis these days.

There is a lot of public awareness and enlightenment that is happening with regard to food safety, and this is almost entirely due to the inspection activities carried out by the authorities.

Incidentally, just last night, the task force police had seized a biryani point selling rotten biryani as they acted on a single complaint that was placed by an individual. This is excellent on time justice, and legal scrutiny that is being done which will set a strong precedent.

These activities will certainly sit well with the urban population in Hyderabad city and could very well bring a positive outset to the Revanth government. This is particularly crucial for the Congress ecosystem as the entire Hyderabad population backed BRS in the previous assembly election. Positive works like this will continue to reflect well on Revanth.
