Andhra Pradesh faces a very peculiar situation where YS Jagan is on a constant mission to derail Amaravati and come up with his own alternatives ever so frequently. But the current NDA government was able to successfully secure the future of Amaravati by getting it declared as the capital of the state in the Parliament.
However, YSR Congress immediately jumped on the offensive and started spreading a negative propaganda against the capital region of Amaravati. They carried these campaigns about how Amaravati would take Rs 2 lakh crore to materialize and labelled it as a non feasible project.
While the NDA government was rather complacent about addressing this, the arrival of AP Congress president, Sharmila has changed the game.
Sharmila took a very offensive stand on this matter as she came up with a very aggressive and attention grabbing comment. “ these people are saying MAVIGUN is alternative for Amaravati. Then it is better if they name Pulivendula as Avi Goddali – a mixture of Jagan’s favourite Avinash Reddy and “Goddali”’.
Sharmila cleverly bought Avinash Reddy and Vivekananda Reddy into the YCP side debate about Amaravati. This is perhaps a more attention grabbing way to ridicule the MAVIGUN proposal of Jagan and exhibit how preposterous it sounds.
While Jagan used the abbreviation of Machilipatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur to create MAVIGUN, Sharmila used Avinash and Goddali to create her own abbreviation. This might sound proper to the ear, but it could certainly become a discussion point in the public zone.
While the NDA government leaders have been intellectual with their counter by saying Amaravati is a self financing project, Sharmila has taken the other route and come hard at YCP in a violent manner. It has to be said that Jagan has been caught in an all-round attack regarding the MAVIGUN idea.
