One of the main doubts that are being raised by the Andhra Pradesh public after the recent announcement from former chief minister, YS Jagan regarding MAVIGUN is why he shifted from 3 capitals to this new plan all of a sudden.
When Jagan’s close associate and YCP MP Midhun Reddy was asking about the same, he made an interesting remark.
The MP stated that it is a fact that YCP change their strategy and calibrated their decisions after the 2024 electoral defeat. He added that the public mandate that was delivered in the last election was taken as referendum by the party regarding the capital proposal.
When asked by the anchor, if YCP has understood that AP public wants Amravati as the capital, Mithun Reddy said “Amaravati is going to be inclusive of MAVIGUN. We are fighting for collective development of the capital and are against centric and selective development of one single region.”
For the last couple of days YCP has been very retrospective with regard to their stand on the capital. There is this constant effort to include Amaravati in their MAVIGUN plan and this is perhaps a redirection taken by the party after realising the public backing for Amaravati, an expert of political affairs comments.
