It’s Official: Lokesh Takes The Charge!

A major shift has begun in the TDP as Nara Lokesh steps into the role of National Working President. This move signals the start of a new leadership phase within the party, with a stronger focus on younger leadership.

Lokesh has been a key figure in the party for several years. In his early political days, he faced strong criticism from opponents and analysts over his abilities, and even personal attacks including body shaming from leaders of the YSR Congress Party.

However, he steadily improved his image and performance over time. He went on to win with a huge majority in 2024 elections, and built a reputation for being approachable, calm, and closely connected to the public. He also played an important role in strengthening TDP after its defeat in the 2019 elections, helping rebuild the party and reconnect with grassroots workers.

One of his major efforts was the “Yuva Galam” padayatra, which brought him closer to the public and helped highlight issues faced by people under the previous government. This campaign increased his visibility and gave fresh energy to party supporters.

Lokesh also focused on the welfare of party workers. His decision to introduce insurance support for party cadre gained attention and was later seen as a model that other parties began to follow. This move helped build trust and loyalty within the party.

In the 2024 elections, TDP, along with its allies, made a strong comeback. Lokesh’s role in strategy and outreach contributed to this success. His rise within the party reflects both his growing influence and the leadership’s confidence in him.

With Chandrababu Naidu handing over greater responsibility, Lokesh is now expected to lead the party’s future direction. His appointment as Working President marks a transition toward a new generation taking charge of TDP.
