As trends are suggesting, Thalapathy Vijay is cruising ahead in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and is all poised to become he would be the 9th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Vijay has put an end to both the Dravidian Parties in the State and registered a remarkable victory.
Many are comparing Vijay’s Victory to that of NT Ramarao in Andhra Pradesh who formed the Telugu Desam Party and won his first election against all odds.
Vijay’s Journey is similar to NTR’s in that aspect. But the record is still with NTR.
NTR became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in just nine months of announcing the Telugu Desam Party and that is a record in the history of the Country.
On the other hand, Vijay officially announced the launch of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on February 2, 2024. That means he will be becoming the Chief Minister in around 27 months after announcing the party.
Interestingly, Arvind Kejriwal comes the second best in this aspect after NT Ramarao.
He came to Power in Delhi in around 13 months after announcing the Aam Admi Party.
However, there is nothing less in Vijay because he contested and won against all odds.
DMK was very strong. AIADMK, even though was severely battered after Jayalalithaa’s demise had the support of the NDA.
We have seen him struggle with his divorce case, Jana Nayagan Censor issues, the movie’s subsequent leak, and Karur Stampede Case in which he was summoned to the Delhi for the CBI investigation multiple times.
In the end, nothing mattered.
It is clear the Youth rallied with Vijay and probably, he is the only actor who could channelize his film popularity and transform it into Political Popularity in the first election itself after NT Ramarao.
This is more special because Rajinikanth did not have courage to test his luck in politics and Kamal Hassan started but gave up easily.
