Eradicate Sanatana Comments Again: Will Vijay Put An End?

Udhayanidhi Stalin repeated his comments on Sanathana Dharma once again. In his maiden address in the Tamil Nadu Assembly as the Leader of Opposition, Udhayanidhi Stalin once again said Sanathana that divides people must definitely be eradicated.

Previously, similar statement drew massive criticism.

We do not know how that statement played a role in DMK’s defeat but Junior Stalin’s high headedness definitely did not go well with the people.

India is a Hindu majority country. Such statement should draw instant flak but then why did we say we do not know how the statement played a role in DMK’s defeat, the answer is in Tamil Nadu’s Assembly today.

While Udhayanidhi made this statement, there is no outrage in the Assembly.

The cameras were on the Chief Minister Joseph Vijay but he did not show any sign of displeasure. There was no mention about the statement in the Chief Minister’s address and he greeted the LoP as if nothing happened after the proceedings.

Not a single member of the 234 seats Assembly condemned Udhayanidhi Stalin.

We do not know what happened to that Single MLA from BJP. Maybe he did not care or his voice was too feeble to be caught by cameras.

The Assembly maybe a reflection of Tamil Nadu Society as a whole.

The state with highest number of Temples in the country was reduced to this position in the name of Periyar ideology and rampant conversions over the decades.

DMK leaders have earlier said that they view Sanathana Dharma as caste hierarchy and social discrimination. However, critics feel repeatedly using the term itself instead of directly referring to caste hierarchy only keeps the controversy alive.

Many believe Chief Minister Vijay may have avoided reacting immediately during the early phase of his tenure. However, there is growing expectation that he should eventually address the issue fairly and prevent such controversies from repeatedly creating a negative perception about Tamil Nadu.
