Stalin To Contests Vijay’s Seat? What’s Happening?

Tamil Nadu politics are witnessing something extremely crucial now as Thalapathy Vijay has been elected as the new chief minister of the state. It has been a week since he took charge, and he has been making several dynamic decisions already.

Now the latest reports from national media channels are suggesting that former chief minister Stalin who ended up losing Kolathur Assembly constituency is planning something big now.

Considering that Stalin does not have any representation in the assembly, he is reportedly considering the idea of contesting in the upcoming Trichy East bypoll.

Earlier, this seat was contested and won by Thalapathy Vijay in the 2026 Assembly election. However, he also happened to contest and win from Perambur constituency, and subsequently, he decided to vacate the Trichy East seat.

So by election is bound to come up in this Trichy east constituency, and all the parties will fiercely contest the same. It is reported that former chief minister Stalin may contest the seat and show a strong signal that he is not a fallen warrior and is ready to take on Vijay.

Reportedly, A resolution has been passed at the Trichy South District Executive Committee meeting demanding that DMK leader Stalin to contest the by-election to be held in the Trichy East.

But at the same time, Stalin would be taking a huge risk if he actually contests the seat that strongly has a TVK. Needless to say another defeat, here in Trichy will end as a black mark in Stalin’s career. So this is going to be a huge gamble regardless of the outcome.

For now, there is no official clarity on whether Stalin would actually be contesting the seat or not. We have to patiently wait and see how the action unfolds in the near future.
