Did Udhayanidhi Step Back on His Sanatan Dharma Remark?

One of the infamous narratives carried by the former deputy chief minister and the current opposition leader of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin is the demand to eradicate Sanatan Dharma.

Even after losing the election, Uday said in Tamil Nadu Assembly last week that Sanatan Dharma must be completely eradicated from Tamil Nadu. This was severely refuted by the common folk on communal grounds and rightly so as well.

This was followed by the TVK, putting Uday in a state of bother by saying he must clearly clarify his stand on what he means by eradicating Sanatan Dharma.

In his reaction to this, Uday had rather stagnated and calm response. He clarified that he is against social inequality and hierarchy culture, but he is not fundamentally against temple worship or religious freedom.

If Uday really had such a soft opinion on Sanatan Dharma and respected the culture so much, what was the need for him to call for eradicating the Sanatan Dharma even till a couple of days back? Commented a social media user.

It was further expressed on social media by the public that Uday might have understood the repercussions of spreading hate on Sanatan Dharma and that’s why he has cooled down now.
