For a really long time now, there have been several political theories and discussions about the possibility of Tamil Nadu BJP Leader Annamalai getting nominated to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.
This was originally supposed to happen last year itself, but was momentarily put on hold. And now that Andhra Pradesh is preparing to fill up the 4 vacant Rajya Sabha seats, this discussion is back on track.
There have been reports about BJP, wanting to secure one of the four vacant Rajya Sabha seats and allocate the same to Annamalai from Tamil Nadu. Reportedly Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Madhav had interacted with chief minister Chandrababu regarding the same yesterday.
In this round of discussion, the chief minister reportedly made clear that it is not possible to allocate any Rajya Sabha seats to BJP this time. He reportedly turned down the advancement made by the BJP.
The Rajya Sabha seat distribution must be done in a proportionate basis and that’s what’s advocated by Chandrababu Naidu. While it might not be a bad idea to accommodate an honest politician like Annamalai, Babu appears to be focused on enhancing the local NDA leaders rather than accommodate other state leaders.
It appears that Annamalai who would have been hopeful of the Rajya Sabha nomination from Andhra Pradesh is likely to get disappointing news again.
