Fact Check: AP Police To Arrest Prof. Nageshwar?

Since last week, senior journalist Professor Nageshwar Rao had been the central point of Andhra Pradesh politics after he came up with a highly controversial report. He said on live television that Pawan Kalyan had gone to meet Amit Shah to pressurise him into arresting Jagan.

A police case was filed against Nageshwar Rao and there was adequate fightback from the Janasena supporters in this regard.

In this regard, there have been Media reports since earlier this morning, saying that Andhra Pradesh Police had arrived at Hyderabad in order to arrest Nageshwar Rao.

A media channel event reported that Hyderabad Police had formed a protective line surrounding Nageshwar Rao’s house in order to prevent the arrest as they haven’t permitted the same.

While these reports continued to go viral on social media, the fact check wing of the Andhra Pradesh government has reacted to the same.

“The ongoing rumor that Andhra Pradesh police have arrived in Telangana to arrest Professor Nageshwar is false. Nothing of the sort has happened. Some individuals are deliberately spreading this rumor. We strongly condemn this. FactCheck”. A clarification from the fact check wing read.

This is a strong confirmation of the fact that Andhra Pradesh Police had indeed not gone to the residence of the media person and any narrative that’s built on this is purely speculation.
