The government of Andhra Pradesh has been taking several revolutionary steps with regard to social infrastructure development, and also tourism enhancement. On that note, there was this pilot idea to implement the beach shacks program.
This idea was initiated by the government to develop liquor shacks beside a couple of popular beaches in Andhra Pradesh in order to enhance the tourism factor and also offset revenue.
There has been mixed reactions to this proposal made by the government as a few people commented that culture could tamper with the family friendly and socially responsible environment at the beaches.
Chief Minister Chandrababu reportedly drew clear red lines at the very beginning of discussions on the beach shack proposal. He is said to have instructed the concerned ministers and officials to ensure appropriate safeguards and make necessary changes before moving ahead. Home Minister Anita later clarified that the beach shack initiative is only a pilot project and not a full-scale implementation.
She categorically confirmed that the government is just testing this program in principal and would take feedback and appropriate financial returns from the same. It was confirmed that this is not a full scale implementation that would be brought to action, regardless of the public mandate.
The public can experience this pilot project and share their feedback with the government. Based on that feedback, the government will collectively decide whether to expand the initiative or scrap it.
