YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be putting Eggs in the Wrong Basket. In today’s Pressmeet, he has made a key announcement regarding the Capital.
“We will go to elections with MAVIGUN. Those who will want MAVIGUN, will vote for us. Those who want Amaravati, will vote for them. We will see who wins,” Jagan Mohan Reddy announced.
It appears like someone is wrongly advising Jagan on the Capital issue. We have seen Jagan supported Amaravati when it was announced, later when in Power, he said Three Capitals, and now he is banking on MAVIGUN.
Jagan is yet to explain why he dropped the Plan of three capitals and shifted to MAVIGUN. Between 2019 and 2024, Vishakapatnam is everything for YSR Congress. They are yet to justify why they abandoned the city altogether.
There is no evidence that people are Pro-MAVIGUN.
With their vote in 2024, people across Andhra Pradesh have made it clear that they are not in for experimentation with something serious like MAVIGUN. Even the people of Vizag who were supposed to be the biggest beneficiaries of three capitals rejected the idea.
There is no sentiment whatsoever in the people of MAVIGUN. In any sane advisor should have asked Jagan to make sure the Capital will be a non-issue for 2029. But then, Jagan is surprisingly pushing MAVIGUN like there is no other issue.
Right or wrong, TDP has consistently maintained its stand on the capital issue. However, changing his position on such a crucial issue before every election portrays Jagan Mohan Reddy as an inconsistent leader. It not only weakens YSR Congress’s credibility on the capital issue but also damages Jagan Mohan Reddy’s overall image.
Sadly no one is telling Jagan and the blunders continue to flow.
