AP Govt Brings AI Revolution In Tourism

Andhra Pradesh under NDA government led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is making rapid strides in development by deploying Artificial Intelligence in different sectors. Now, tourism sector is likely to get a big boost with the help of AI.

Tourism is one area which is being given huge priority by the coalition government. In a big leap, the state is set to transform how visitors experience its cultural heritage by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) at key historical and tourist destinations.

With this innovative move, AP has officially become the first state in India to introduce AI-driven tourism services, allowing travelers to instantly unlock local history, cultural backgrounds, and historical context using their smartphones.

Minister for Tourism and Culture, Kandula Durgesh, announced the initiative following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the AP Tourism Department and the travel tech firm Explurger at the State Secretariat.

Under this three-year agreement, Explurger will deploy an AI platform called NIVU. When a tourist scans the QR code, the AI assistant will instantly provide history and site insights in both text and voice formats across 130 languages.

The project has already been rolled out as a pilot at two major spiritual landmarks in Mangalagiri. Up next, it will be included in the forthcoming Godavari and Krishna Pushkarams.
