Ys Jagan has publicly said the Andhra Pradesh public mandate in 2029 election will depend on whether people back Mavigun or Amaravati. He has communicated that only those who believe in him and Mavigun can vote for YCP while those who back Amaravati can vote for TDP.
This has become a major public discourse and could set the narrative for the 2029 election as well. So the attempts have begun to analyse the public reaction to these motives and a few media channels have started gathering public feedback on the same.
In one such YouTube video, where a media representative was asking the public about their opinion on Amaravati versus Mavigun, they happened to meet former Tirupati MP Sivaprasad. He had a very interesting reaction when asked about this clash between the two capitals proposals.
The former MP said he preferred Amaravati as the solitaire capital and added the Jagan is playing unnecessary formulations with multiple capitals and confusing the public.
“As someone who has travelled very close with Jagan for 12 years, I can say that he likes only what he likes. He does not care about what the people want, or what is the standard practice in India or anywhere else in the world. If he likes something, then there is no changing it. If you really wants to develop multiple regions, there are other ways to do it, but not by confusing everyone with announcing a capital wherever he likes.”
The fact that this comment came from former member of Parliament of YSR Congress, who had travelled very closely with Jagan for more than a decade could be very telling in its own way. This appears to be another monotonous decision from Jagan to announce Mavigun without any regard for opinions of public or even his own YCP members for that matter.
