Union Minister Nitin Gadkari acknowledged that E20 petrol may marginally reduce vehicle mileage due to ethanol’s lower calorific value but dismissed claims of engine damage. He said extensive testing was conducted before the nationwide rollout and termed social media claims about vehicle damage a “false narrative.”
