A viral video from the Tirumala Alipiri footpath has triggered concern among devotees after several pilgrims were seen getting frightened by sounds believed to be that of a leopard near the trekking route. The clip quickly spread across social media.
The incident reached the attention of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who immediately reviewed the situation and directed officials to strengthen safety measures for devotees using the footpath.
Pawan Kalyan instructed the Forest Department, TTD Forest Wing and TTD Vigilance officials to work in close coordination and ensure that pilgrims do not face any inconvenience during their journey to the hill shrine.
He also asked officials to deploy HANUMAN teams in areas where leopard movement has been reported. The teams have been directed to remain alert and respond swiftly to any emergency.
Pawan further instructed officials to clear thick bushes in vulnerable locations, improve visibility and continuously monitor sensitive stretches along the trekking route.
He said devotees should be encouraged to walk in groups and adequate awareness should be created to avoid panic. Officials were also told to ensure that pilgrims remain safe without creating unnecessary fear.
Government has assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to protect devotees. Pawan stressed that safety remains the top priority and asked officials to stay vigilant until the situation is fully under control.
