Flying Busses Coming In India? What Nitin Gadkari Said?

From being one of the most respected and valued leaders in Indian politics, R & B minister, Nitin Gadkari had been passing wild comments, which have been getting him trolled on social media. He is back on the job now as his latest comment is drawing significant social media attention.

This senior minister spoke about the possibility of the introduction of flying buses in Indian transport industry and it has immediately invited a lot of trolls and memes on social media.

In a massive public meeting, that happened last afternoon, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari said that India is planning to introduce flying buses as a part of its next generation urban transport project.

The project aims to improve urban mobility by reducing traffic congestion through innovative and sustainable transportation technologies.

The fact that the cabinet minister spoke about the possible introduction of flying buses in Indian transport sector has not gone well. At a time when India does not have proper seamless roadway transport facilities, the idea of speaking about flying busses is being seen more like a satire than a public statement from this veteran politician.

Perhaps, the system refers to aerial pod-based transport, where small electric pods run on elevated tracks above the ground. Gadkari said the government is working on connecting Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan to Manesar in Haryana through this pod system, as the route sees heavy traffic.

This was a very vague announcement from the union minister, and it has to be seen what would be the actual plan of the Indian government with regard to these “flying busses”.
