The Monsoon Session of Parliament began on Monday, but the Lok Sabha was adjourned within the first hour after opposition members created a ruckus over several issues.
The House started with the singing of Vande Mataram, followed by Question Hour. However, Congress and other opposition parties demanded discussions on issues including the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, the paper leak controversy, and the Ayodhya Ram Temple donation theft case.
Despite repeated appeals from Speaker Om Birla to maintain order and allow Question Hour to continue, opposition members continued their protests, forcing the House to be adjourned.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MPs also raised concerns over seating arrangements and demanded action against members who had left the party. The disruptions led to a noisy start to the Monsoon Session, with proceedings being suspended on the very first day.
