Never Before Was There A CM Like Jagan: R Narayana Murthy

Film actor and director R. Narayana Murthy, known for his left-oriented movies, yet again heaped praises on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Earlier, he appreciated Jagan for proposing to have three capitals for the state. The three capitals, he said, would ensure equal development in all the three regions.

Addressing media persons in Visakhapatnam, the film actor said that Jagan has been implementing several novel programmes for the welfare of various sections in the society. Further, he said that there was no such chief minister like Jagan in the entire country who is making sure that all sections of the society are covered by the government welfare programmes. In the entire history of Andhra Pradesh, there has been no such chief minister who had implemented welfare schemes on such a large-scale, he said.

He said that he was not affiliated to any political party and that he would support any chief minister who works for the development and welfare of the people. He hoped that the three-capital idea would help in the development of North Andhra, which has been languishing as a backward area in the state. If the executive capital begins functioning from Vizag, emigrations from the region can be reduced as people will be able to find employment. He hoped that the entire North Andhra region would begin witnessing development after the executive capital is shifted to that place.

Till now, it had been very problematic to grow at least one crop in the Visakhapatnam-East Godavari plateau region, despite the presence of Yeleru and Tandava reservoirs. “Identifying this problem, Jagan had aligned Yeleru water with Tandava reservoir to avoid shortage of irrigation water,” he pointed out.

Recently, Narayana Murthy also expressed his solidarity with the farmers protesting against the three farm bills introduced by the NDA government and urged the Centre to implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission in the agriculture sector.
