All of India is currently burning with the ongoing student protest regarding the recent NEET paper leakage. The ongoing protest in Delhi is creating ripples across the Indian subcontinent and things are changing drastically.
However, the fundamental factor about this protest is that there is no political angle to it and students are coming out in big numbers just to fulfil their social and educational rights.
But strangely YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh is looking to completely politicise this situation and silently slip DSC (Andhra Pradesh examination) into the narrative. They are saying that Andhra Pradesh government commit frauds in the DSC examination, and this needs to be investigated along with the NEET examination hiatus.
YCP leaders called upon students, unemployed youth and their families to participate in large numbers in the July 28 rallies. They said the protests would demand a CBI probe into Mega DSC irregularities, clearance of fee reimbursement dues, accountability in the NEET issue and fulfilment of all promises made to the youth.
But the crucial point that must be noted here is that the NEET examination scenario is completely different from the AP DSC issue. The DSC issue in Andhra Pradesh is not even being recognised by the local public, let alone the national channels. Linking this with something as significant as the NEET exam is as desperate as anyone can get.
The worst possible thing here is that YSR Congress is looking to politicise something like the students protest that is running entirely on merit and social responsibility. So these desperate efforts to gain some political mileage from a genuine cause could end up backfiring on YCP’s face itself.
