Tamil Nadu produced one of the most remarkable election results in recent decade in the form of the election of Thalapathy Vijay as the chief minister of the state. This has substantiated a new political wave in Tamil Nadu now.
Interestingly, another Tamil actor Dhanush appears to be contemplating his political debut now, and he is already preparing the ground work for the same.
Just a couple of weeks back, Dhanush held a public event where he distributed resources to students and their parents, which can be regarded as his first major philanthropic activity in recent times. He even delivered a strong political speech at the event where he appeared to align with the BJP.
Now there is a significant piece of political action that is happening at the ground level in Tamil Nadu as Dhanush’s organisation has announced a series of public activities in Coimbatore region.
Earlier this Coimbatore region was outrightly dominated by Thalapathy Vijay’s TVK party in the recent Tamil Nadu election. And now we have Dhanush, who is starting his organisational work in this precise region of the state.
People have started to question if Dhanush has started to target the strong hold areas for Vijay and try to create a split here. This argument has started to gain significance after the organisation announced multiple activities in several parts of Coimbatore region.
This might be too early to comment on the actual political intentions of Dhanush, and who would be his direct target in Tamil Nadu politics. But considering the cinema background of both Vijay and Dhanush, there will be obvious comparisons between the two of them.
In terms of ground planning and additional strength, Vijay was very particular about this for many years and he built a platform for himself silently before actually debuting in 2026 Assembly election. Replicating, this will be extremely tough for any other cinema star in upcoming times and more so for Dhanush.
