Tamil CM’s Telugu Paper Ads: What’s Up!

Tamil Nadu politics are currently witnessing a new wave of revolution in the form of the formation of the Joseph Vijay government there in the state. This is the first time in last few decades that DMK or AIADMK did not capture power in Tamil Nadu.

It has been around hundred days since the election of Vijay as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and he has been on the job already. He has been very humble when it comes to public policy, making as he is staying close to all sections of common public and is working on implementing his electoral promises to the fullest extent.

And now, Vijay has done something very interesting, which is out of the box as he has come up with an elongated advertisement in Andhra Pradesh. There is a big front page paper advertisement regarding the Vijay government that has been published in the Andhra Pradesh edition today.

This advertisement, evidently regarding good work done by Vijay government in Tamil Nadu for the last hundred days, and this is more like a publicity campaign to expand the party reach in AP as well.

Vijay has always been an ambitious politician, and he will certainly look to expand his TVK reach beyond Tamil Nadu as he has been focusing on Kerala and Andhra Pradesh as well.

But at the end of the day, capturing the Andhra Pradesh segment is not an easy job, and this is not going to be possible on an immediate basis for Vijay in the near future. The dominance of TDP and YSR Congress here is exceptionally strong already.

However, we never know with politics as funny things have happened in the past, so Vijay will be very hopeful of creating something big in AP as well. But only time will tell when he would be getting actually interested and setting ground in AP.

If at all Vijay comes to be active in AP, then his Christian centric vote pull could ultimately affect the YCP voting prospect. But this is a problem for the future for the YCP ecosystem and they have a bigger fish to fry here first while regaining lost ground in 2029.
