KBR Park One Way Traffic: Check The New Routes

Hyderabad Traffic Police have introduced a new one way traffic system around KBR Park from August 18 as part of the ongoing H CITI construction works. The new arrangement is expected to remain for around one and a half years.

The entire road around KBR Park is being used as a one way circulation route. Commuters who regularly use Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar and the surrounding areas will have to follow new routes.

Important Route Changes

— Road No. 12 to NTR Bhavan: The earlier right turn at Maharaja Agrasen Island is now not allowed. Vehicles have to take a left, go through Journalist Colony and Jubilee Hills Check Post and use Lane Changer No. 10 near Cream Stone to reach NTR Bhavan or Annapurna Bylane.

— NTR Bhavan to Road No. 45: There is no direct right turn at NTR Bhavan. Vehicles have to turn left towards KBR Park and then follow the designated lanes towards Road No. 45 or Journalist Colony.

— KBR Check Post to NFCL, Panjagutta and Begumpet: Vehicles should move to the left lane through the new median opening near Gymkhana Club and take a free left at NTR Bhavan.

— KBR Check Post to Road No. 10: Motorists can use the median opening near Study Circle to move towards Road No. 10.

— Road No. 12 and Cancer Hospital: Vehicles heading towards Road No. 12 should move left after passing the Cancer Hospital and follow the designated route.

— NFCL to Road No. 36: The right turn towards NTR Bhavan is closed. Motorists have to take an alternative route through Srinagar Colony T Junction, Indiranagar Gadda, Venkatagiri Cross Roads and Road No. 10 Jubilee Hills before taking the newly opened median near Alcazar Plaza.

— Road No. 45 to Film Nagar: The direct right turn from Road No. 45 is restricted. Vehicles heading towards Film Nagar can use Road No. 51 and Road No. 52.

— Road No. 3 from Banjara Hills: Vehicles travelling towards Jubilee Hills Check Post have to take the designated left turn at the traffic signal instead of following the earlier movement.

— Yousufguda side: Vehicles coming from Yousufguda also have to follow the circular one way route instead of taking the earlier right turn.

What About U Turns?

Motorists cannot simply use the old U turns and right turns to return to their previous route. The new system uses designated lane changers, median openings and exits. Drivers are advised to follow the traffic signs and instructions from police personnel instead of trying to take shortcuts.

Around 200 traffic personnel have been deployed at important points to guide motorists during the initial days.

The changes are expected to cause some additional travel for commuters, but the traffic police say the one way system is necessary while the H CITI construction works continue.

People travelling through KBR Park, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills and Film Nagar should therefore check the new route before starting their journey and allow extra time, especially during peak hours.
