Hyderabad has already established itself as one of the strongest employment hubs in the country, especially in IT, pharma and other key sectors. The next big step is to strengthen the city’s position in higher education, research and global academic opportunities.
With this planning, CM Revanth Reddy is pushing Telangana towards a major transformation in the education sector. During his UK tour, he invited leading global institutions to partner with the state and bring their academic ecosystem to Hyderabad.
Revanth specifically invited the University of Cambridge to collaborate with Telangana in areas including higher education, research, entrepreneurship and innovation. The government is looking at bringing international educational programmes and creating stronger academic opportunities within the state.
The Chief Minister has also pitched Hyderabad as a global education hub at the University of Oxford. He invited Oxford to establish a centre in Hyderabad and introduce executive education programmes and specialised research initiatives.
This fits into the broader Telangana Rising vision, where the government wants Hyderabad to grow beyond being merely an employment destination and emerge as a major knowledge and innovation centre. Attracting global universities could give students access to international quality education without having to leave the city.
