Why Is TN Opposition Trolling Young Female IT Minister?

The formation of the Thalapathy Vijay government in Tamil Nadu has been constituted with the arrival of several young politicians. One of the young politicians in the cabinet that was formed by Vijay is Keerthana who is serving as the industries minister.

However, the recent developments have been suggesting that Keerthana is being extensively targeted by the political opposition groups in Tamil Nadu.

In this, there was a viral video yesterday, where a woman in a black bodycon dress getting out of a luxury car was extensively shared on Twitter. The narrative was spread in such a way that this lady is Tamil Nadu Industries, minister Keerthana and it was implied that she was living a lavish lifestyle while she was out abroad.

This video was carried across social media in an attempt to defame the young female cabinet minister and thus target the Vijay government.

However, this was quickly met with adequate fire and resistance by the young female minister who gave it back to those spreading narratives against her.

In her elaborate message on social media, Keerthana wrote “For the record: the woman in that video is not me. But even if it were, why should it matter?

Why are a woman’s clothes, appearance, or joy still treated as matters for public trial?

When they can’t challenge us on our policies, governance, or track record, they resort to manufacturing narratives about personal lives of leaders and their family members.”

This is extremely pathetic to see political opponents getting down to spreading fabricated videos to defame female politicians. There are certain lines that must be maintained in the society, and these are being crossed frequently by many South Indian parties these days.
