The Pulivendula assembly constituency is represented by YS Jagan, and it was historically represented by the members of his family for the last five decades.
But the point of discussion now is about the possibility of Jagan leaving the Pulivendula assembly constituency in the upcoming election.
This comes in the context of the recent comment from YS Jagan himself where he said he would not be giving the MLA ticket to YCP leader if they fail to field a candidate in the local body elections.
He made it very clear that every single Assembly level representative must make sure that each of the local body seat in their constituency is contested by YCP. In case any seat goes uncontested or unanimous, the concerned representative will not be provided the MLA ticket, Jagan himself said.
However, this comment from Jagan has invited criticism from his own YCP supporting group on social media. They are pointing out that Jagan is operating too harsh and farcical as he is expecting too much from YCP leadership, which has been stagnated for the last couple of years.
“While the party is struggling to hold the ground, Jagan is not in action in AP. Then how can he expect the party to be so strong to contest every single local body election, which is usually dominated by the ruling party? By his logic, will he himself quit Pulivendula if any Corporation goes unanimous here?” An anguished YCP supporter himself commented.
It appears that this whole scenario has come back to haunt Jagan himself as his own supporters are perplexed by his insane demand to contest every single seat in local polls which is impractical.
The honest intention of Jagan to field YCP candidates in every single constituency might be fair enough, but threatening the MLA ticket for leaders hasn’t landed well. It has never arrived at a logic where Jagan himself is being questioned about his qualification to contest from Pulivendula if any corporation goes unanimous here.
