Will YCP’s Controversial Leaders Show Strength in Local Polls?

The YSR Congress ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh has been getting beaten up badly since the humiliating defeat in the 2024 assembly election. Things are not looking smooth for this party at given point in time.

It turns out to be that the party chief Jagan is making it all the more tougher for the fundamental leaders with his chain of command.

Jagan has made it very clear that he will not give MLA tickets to YCP leaders who failed to facilitate the party candidates in the upcoming local body election. “ If any seat in local polls go vacant, that concerned assembly segment candidate will not get MLA ticket next term.” He says.

This can be considered as a deadly warning, considering the fact that several YCP leaders are already vexed with the same. Particularly we have the case of controversial leaders like Kodali Nani, Roja, Ambati Rambabu, Perni Nani, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Jogi ramesh and others.

The majority of these leaders had been stagnated within the party ranks for the last few months along with Cases and Controversies. Only Ambati and Perni Nani had been occasionally sitting in front of the media, and that is also from the Tadepalli party office.

While there is so much inactivity from several crucial leaders associated with the YCP leadership, Jagan might be in a spot of bother if he stands on his earlier words about not giving MLA tickets to those who fail in local polls.

Considering the fact that Kodali, Vamsi, Roja and others had nearly disappeared from the public attention after the defeat, it must be a tough task to bring them back to the duty now.

At the same time, it must be tough for Jagan to stand on his word if at all he decides to leave all these controversial leaders for the sake of his earlier warning. He himself might be caught in two minds now.

In the first place, the warning that was issued by Jagan itself is impractical as the opposition YCP is already gutted and it would be incompatibly unfair of Jagan to expect the leaders to contest every single corporation. So there is a lot of complication associated with these mentioned senior leaders and also top people associated with the party across the state.

A few people are even commenting that Jagan might have planned to silently eliminate these loudmouth leaders from the party as they’ve done nothing but damage the reputation with their abuses on Chandrababu and PK earlier. But this theory is also not very convincing as Jagan would want these people around him, considering his aggressive brand of politics.
