Modi Repeats Gold Warning, Community Raises Questions

The prime minister of India Narendra Modi has been repeatedly emphasising the need to develop local economy and he has been advising the public against purchasing Gold and going on foreign vacations.

Incidentally, Modi who happens to be on an official visit, shared a video message on social media and extended this message again.

First Modi congratulated India for the strong development in the GDP index, which is above 7.8% and said this is pretty extraordinary considering that the entire world battling with India in developing.

Emphasizing the need to conserve national economic resources, PM Modi urged citizens to adopt the ‘Made in India’ mantra, avoid unnecessary overseas leisure trips or foreign destination weddings, and refrain from buying gold unless essential to help steer the country toward becoming a developed nation

However, this message is not entirely acceptable for all sections of the public as the Goldsmith community who depend on Gold sales and preparation are saying this message from the PM would ruin their livelihood.

It shall also be noted that Modi have been repeatedly calling for reduced dependency on gold and foreign travel. But it will all come down to the actual reception that the public will have to this message.
