Muhurtam Fix: Jagan Picks YSR Date For Yatra 2.0

One of the hallmark promises that is being made by YS Jagan in the buildup to the 2029 Andhra Pradesh general election is his upcoming Padayatra. This happens to be one of the crucial development regarding Andhra Pradesh politics.

Now the latest communication from Jagan himself is that he would be starting this historic yatra two point oh from YSR Jayanthi on July 8, 2027.

This would essentially mean that there is less than a year to go for the upcoming political campaign by Jagan as he is historically famous for these pada yatras. In that case, he must start the ground preparation with only under 10 months to go for the commencement of the same.

What this would also mean is that Jagan will be with the public for nearly 2 years before 2029 polls, starting from July 2027, and this would give him enough time to connect with the masses.

But the most important challenge for Jagan here is going to be to undo the bad work that happened after the 2019 Praja Sankalpa Yatra. He was able to win the trust of the voters after this yatra, but when it came to actually delivering the results during his time as the CM, he failed badly. Reflected in the historic defeat for the YCP in 2024 Assembly elections.

So there are going to be multiple factors directly affecting the potential reach and also the public reception for the upcoming Jagan Yatra in 2027. But for now, he has successfully locked the time for the same as he is sitting out on the sentimental date of July 8, which happens to be YSR birth anniversary.
