Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has announced a bumper bonanza for government employees and teachers during the meeting with Unions just a while ago at his camp office in Vijayawada.
Despite financial hurdles and budget constraints, Naidu has decided to end the long wait of employees and approved the setup of the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) to review employee pay structures.
In addition, the government cleared two Dearness Allowances (DAs) pending from July 2024 and January 2025. Employees will receive these payouts along with their October 2026 salaries.
The government also rolled out additional benefits for retirees and specific departments. Surrender leave dues from 2022 will be paid out starting Sankranti, while police personnel will receive an extra surrender leave payout by Dasara.
Not just current employees, pensioners over 70 years old will see a pension boost starting January 2027, with 10% added for those aged 70 and 15% for those aged 75.
Coming to interim relief (IR), the Chief Minister has reportedly assured the Unions that it will be taken up at an appropriate time and asked them to wait due to the current financial crisis of the state.
Historically, Chandrababu always favoured the demands of government employees and gave pay revisions like no other CM of Telugu states. In the past, he gave a record fitment factor of 43% after state bifurcation and brought big cheer for employees.
