Revanth Effect: Konda Fired, Komatireddy Controlled!

For many decades, several chief ministers associated with the Congress party had struggled to contain the interior factions in the party. The problem is with the fact that the party high command listens to all the senior leaders equally, which gives the hierarchy a point of concern as many senior leaders have equal say in party affairs, even beyond reach of the CM.

But the positive thing for Revanth Reddy in Telangana Congress is that he is able to successfully contain this procedure and getting his way going.

Over the last few months, Revanth Reddy had been facing a few challenges with regard to Konda Surekha and also Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. A few others like Chinna Reddy were also following the same suit.

However, Revanth Reddy himself is a hard fought leader, and he knows how to deal with such situations. He managed to get his way with the Congress high command in Delhi and got Konda Surekha fired from her Cabinet position.

This sent shivers down the spines of other Congress Senior leaders who were taking inspiration from Konda Surekha. The fact that Revanth was able to quickly fire Konda Surekha from the cabinet gave the indication that he has the absolute trust of the high command.

This resulted in the disciplining of Rajagopal Reddy too. At a public event today, RajaGopal Reddy was seen sitting right next to Revanth Reddy, and even having a lengthy conversation with him.

After having spoken against Revanth for the last few weeks, Rajagopal Reddy has started to pacify the CM now, and this is a clear shift in dynamic after the firing of Konda Surekha. It appears that Revanth Reddy knows what buttons to press in Congress to keep leader under control and is doing a brilliant job with that.

On the flip side, there were reports that Komati might get confirmation of a cabinet berth in the upcoming cabinet expansion.
