Free Power For Ganesh Pandals Continues In Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh government is continuing its decision to provide free electricity to Ganesh pandals across the state during Vinayaka Chaturthi.

Minister Nara Lokesh announced the initiative, saying all Ganesh mandapams across Andhra Pradesh will be provided free electricity to support the festive celebrations.

This is not a new decision this year. The Chandrababu Naidu led NDA government had announced free power for Ganesh pandals in August 2025 after festival organisers approached Nara Lokesh with the request.

The government had also extended the same benefit to Durga Puja mandapams during the Dasara celebrations. Chandrababu Naidu approved the proposal after Lokesh discussed the request with him and Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar.

The decision is aimed at reducing the financial burden on organisers, as pandals require electricity for lighting, decorations and other arrangements during the celebrations.

With the government continuing the initiative this year, Ganesh and Durga festival organisers are set to receive support for their celebrations across Andhra Pradesh.
