KTR’s Passport to be Impounded In Formula E Case?

The highly controversial formula E car race scam allegations are starting to trouble KTR in more ways than one. He is facing constant investigation in this case, as the ACB has been assigned with the responsibility of establishing the hard facts.

KTR had been promptly attending the investigations that are being commissioned by the ACB but there isn’t much restrictive or legal consequence as of yet.

As part of the investigation, the ACB registered a case in against then IT minister KTR, Arvind Kumar, then HMDA chief engineer B.L.N. Reddy, G Kiran Malleshwar Rao, and Formula E Operations representative Alberto Longo.

Incidentally, the investigation procedure is being carried out swiftly and the details of the same are being submitted to the court on regular basis.

Now, the ACB has now approached the court seeking impounding of the passports of four of the five accused. Considering the fact that the fifth accused is a foreign national, authorities here do not have the power to impound his passport.

So it has to be seen if the court would be permitting the investigating authorities to impound the passport belonging to KTR, which would mean that he would not be able to travel abroad without the court permission from then on.

To put that into perspective, YS Jagan has his passport impounded by the court, and he will have to seek the permission to travel abroad every time. A similar scenario could be coming up for KTR if his passport gets impounded by the court in this formula E case. But nothing is consolidated or confirmed for now.
