Stalin Calls Him ‘Reels’ CM

Tamil Nadu CM and TVK chief Vijay is facing sharp criticism from the opposition ahead of the Dharapuram bypoll. DMK president and former CM MK Stalin has now taken a direct swipe at Vijay, calling him a “Reels” Chief Minister and questioning his focus on social media and publicity.

Speaking at a campaign meeting in Dharapuram on Friday, Stalin urged voters to support DMK candidate S Suganya in the October 6 bypoll. He said the election was an opportunity to give a reply to what he described as the arrogance of the “Reels” CM.

Stalin also attacked the TVK government over rising prices and alleged that people were struggling with the increasing cost of essential commodities. During his Dharapuram campaign, he visited a grocery shop and spoke about the prices of daily-use items.

He questioned whether promotional reels and social media publicity could solve the problems faced by ordinary families. Stalin also alleged that Tamil Nadu’s GST revenue had declined for three consecutive months and raised concerns over the state’s economic performance.

The DMK chief further targeted Vijay over governance, power supply, law and order and industrial development. He alleged that the government was concentrating more on publicity than addressing people’s issues.

Stalin also referred to Vijay’s film background while attacking his political style. He said Vijay had acted as a hero in films but was now acting differently in politics, accusing the Chief Minister of treating governance like a shooting spot.
