The upcoming local body elections have brought TDP, Jana Sena and BJP leaders together once again. CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan held a detailed meeting and discussed the alliance strategy for the elections.
The meeting lasted for around two and a half hours, with both leaders focusing on keeping the alliance united at the ground level.
Pawan Kalyan stressed the need to send a strong message that the alliance remains united. The leaders also discussed better coordination between TDP, Jana Sena and BJP leaders and workers across the state.
Chandrababu reportedly suggested that the alliance should first assess the strength of each party in every local area. Based on those calculations, the respective parties could be given an opportunity to contest seats where they have stronger support.
The leaders also want candidates and local leaders to avoid unnecessary competition among alliance partners. Instead, they are expected to work together and ensure the victory of the chosen alliance candidate.
However, the bigger challenge remains at the ground level. While the top leadership appears to be on the same page, local leaders and workers in several areas are already preparing to contest against each other.
The alliance has been trying to resolve such issues through coordination committees, but some local disputes continue. With local polls approaching, stronger coordination among TDP, Jana Sena and BJP leaders will be crucial to keep the alliance united.
