Can Janasena Prove Its ‘Ground Level’ Strength in Local Polls?

With AP is all set for local body elections and notification may come out anytime soon, all eyes are on Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena. Unlike the general elections, local polls are totally different. They are entirely dependent on the political party’s grassroots, strength on ground and their core strengths. It is a very crucial time for Janasena as local polls reflect the true caliber of a political party and what is their mass reach.

In general elections, a statewide wave and the image of a popular leader like Pawan Kalyan can have a major impact on the results. However, the same may not work in local body polls, which largely depend on a party’s core vote base, rural strength and local political equations. Janasena’s leadership and cadre should not take things for granted or assume that Pawan Kalyan’s image alone will take care of everything.

Janasena Party needs to work hard on the ground and take its achievements and good work to people through door-to-door campaigning. Its social media teams should also focus on highlighting the party’s work and connecting with voters at the grassroots level.

Both the TDP and YSRCP have established cadres, strong local leaders and a solid ground-level presence. Janasena, meanwhile, is yet to fully prove its strength in local body elections.

Now, the onus is on Janasena’s leadership, cadre and activists. They must make the most of the next few days, focus on local issues, strengthen their connection with rural voters and prove that the party’s support goes beyond Pawan Kalyan’s popularity.
