Fight Against CEC: Sharmila Wins Praise, But Jagan Silent!

One of the most discussed topics in Indian politics these days is the ongoing cockroach movement against election commission chief Gyanesh Kumar. There is a lot of debate on the cockroach movement, which is clearly demanding the resignation of the election commissioner in view of the allegations against him.

To put this into perspective, we have the case of Andhra Pradesh, where Congress chief Sharmila got on the ground today.

After many months of hibernation and silence, Sharmila finally hit the streets today as she spearheaded the protest demanding the immediate resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.

When the Police try to obstruct the Andhra Pradesh Congress office in Vijayawada, Sharmila was not bothered or concerned as she drove a car with the Indian constitution in her hand. Along with that Sharmila raised several slogans against the election Commissioner and sat on the streets in protest.

While there was so much activity happening regarding Sharmila, the designated opposition leader YS Jagan was nowhere to be seen in the political arena.

At a time, when the opposition parties across the country have been raising the voice against election mismanagement, Jagan, who had always been silent against the NDA remained unbothered.

While AP Congress president, Sharmila is winning praises for her fighting spirit and resolute today while protesting against the CEC, the stoic absence of Jagan has invited a lot of criticism on him.

There is already a lot of discourse against Jagan for his strategic silence against the NDA and this got aggravated further as he failed to capitalise on the nation wide movement against the election commission.

Incidentally, the very same Jagan had raised his voice against the EVMs in the first few months after the 2024 election. But now that it matters the most, Jagan is not even rising a single comments against the EC or the NDA government.

He had said Rahul Gandhi is lazy to protest against the EC but he himself is doing the same thing now, remarked a neutral observer.
