Considering the close proximity of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana politics, there are frequent exchanges between the leaders of the two Telugu states. We are witnessing a similar scenario, and it has come from Congress senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
Venkat Reddy, who is currently at Delhi on behalf of Telangana Congress is protesting against the election commission commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He alleged that the election commission tried to remove 73 lakh votes in Telangana as a part of the SIR procedure, but the Congress will not permitted.
“They tried to loot the votes in Telangana, but we have stood firm. If we look at the case of Andhra Pradesh, we cannot understand how Jaganmohan Reddy lost to the coalition of TDP, JSP, and BJP. Despite all his welfare programmes, Jagan still lost the election and we have to analyse why.” Komatireddy said.
The Congress Senior Leader gave the implication that the EVM allegations against the election commission is the reason why Jagan lost the election in Andhra Pradesh, despite the solid welfare schemes.
But many people who observed this comment from Komatireddy Venkat Reddy are saying that he is just looking to gain the support of another opposition leader like Jagan with such comments. They are questioning the logic of Venkat Reddy about Andhra Pradesh election, while he himself is a part of Telangana government. If the EVM scam is real, how will Congress come to power in Telangana, they ask.
