Premature Seat-Sharing Claims Can Demoralise Cadres!

The seat-sharing talks between TDP and Janasena are currently underway.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Janasena Minister Nadendla Manohar and BJP senior leader Madhav to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, some numbers are suddenly doing rounds on social media, claiming to be the seat-sharing formula.

As per these numbers, Janasena will get 35% of local bodies, 6–8 Mayor posts, 40 Municipal Chairperson posts, and 1,800 wards.

There is no official announcement so far, and nobody knows what is happening behind the scenes. But some enthusiastic Janasena social media accounts are sharing these numbers as if they are official.

Nobody knows where these numbers came from or who started spreading them.

Obviously, if the actual numbers are less than these claims, the cadre will be disappointed.

We all know what happened in 2024. It started with similar predictions and wishful thinking, from 50% seats to 70 seats and then 50 seats. Finally, Janasena contested just 21 MLA seats and 2 MP seats as part of the alliance.

The local elections schedule is expected to be announced on the 14th. Creating such expectations just before the announcement is totally unnecessary. If the actual numbers do not match these claims, it will demoralise the Janasena cadre and may also create unnecessary differences between the alliance partners.

Until the parties officially announce the seat-sharing details, everyone should wait instead of spreading unconfirmed numbers. Such premature claims will only create unnecessary expectations and disappointment among the cadre. In the end, the only party that benefits from these rumours and confusion will be YCP.
