Andhra Pradesh is preparing for the local body election starting this month and the stakes are exceptionally high on the same. But at the same time, there is also a lot of confusion that is happening in this direction.
Over the last couple of days, certain Janasena handles on social media had been extensively spreading information regarding their allocation for the local election. A few handles had been posting that they would be getting half a dozen mayor positions while others say they’d also be getting 40% of total seats in the local polls.
This has proven to be detrimental to the stability of the alliance as such discussion on seat sharing without actual consultation with the TDP leadership pushed a bad narrative.
But this was quickly controlled and pacified by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, who showed his experience by sitting down for a meeting with JSP leaders today.
It was communicated by JSP Senior leader Bolisetty that middle ground has been found between their party and TDP. It was further added that the seat sharing for the local election will be completed without any disturbances or difference of opinion.
At the end of the day, it is the stability of the alliance that is going to be crucial to win the assembly election next term. So placing too much emphasis on seat sharing in the local action is not the right operational procedure either. Chief minister Chandrababu might have demonstrated the same in the meeting today.
