One of the many complaints against the previous YCP administration was the lack of basic understanding on the roadway projects. There were many roads across Andhra Pradesh, which required repairs and new roads were needed in rural parts, but none of this was catered by the previous government.
But the current NDA government has been very proactive with their approach when it comes to road repair works and laying of new roads. This is a crucial point of difference between the two functioning governments at large.
However, something extremely unfortunate and inconsiderate has happened in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh as local YCP leaders are being accused of destroying a new road within one week of completion.
In Tirupati district, Pullampeta mandal, from Anantasamudram village to Papakkagaripalle village, a BT road constructed with ₹4.75 crore under the Palle Panduga scheme was plowed up for 100 meters in length by local YSRCP leader Subbareddy using a tractor.
It is being alleged that this YCP leader was against this road in the first place as it was close to his farmland. But he was convinced by the local public and government representatives that a new road is extremely important here. However, he had none of it as he reportedly plowed up and destroyed the road within one week of its completion.
The matter has reached deputy CM and Panchayat Raja Minister, Pawan Kalyan now.
On Monday, he reviewed the road destruction and subsequent actions with senior engineering officials from the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department.
Officials explained that based on information from villagers, an FIR was registered stating that a person named Subbareddy. A non-bailable warrant has been issued against this concerned individual for wasting so much public money and resources for his own individual gains.
