Former YCP MP, Vijaya Sai Reddy has made an interesting announcement about his new political party. He has picked November 11 at 11:11 AM for the party’s launch in Vijayawada. His post has now caught attention for its repeated use of the number 11.
The timing has also sparked political discussion, as Jagan’s party won only 11 Assembly seats in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections. Many are viewing the repeated number as an indirect dig at his former party and its chief, Jagan.
Sai Reddy served as a key leader in YSRCP for several years and was considered close to the YS family. However, he later quit the party and announced his plans to return to active politics with a new political outfit.
The former MP says his new party will focus on public issues and aims to bring a change in Andhra Pradesh politics. He has spoken about jobs for youth, better support for farmers and reducing the burden on poor and middle class families.
He has also targeted the dominance of two parties and two political families in the state. His comments indicate that the new party plans to position itself as an alternative to the existing political forces.
However, Sai Reddy has started promoting religious politics aggressively, which is relatively unfamiliar in Andhra Pradesh politics. It remains to be seen whether he and his party can make an impact with this kind of aggressive politics in a secular state like Andhra Pradesh.
Whether the number 11 is simply an auspicious choice or a subtle political message remains open to interpretation. However, with the party launch scheduled for November 11, Sai Reddy has already managed to draw attention to his political comeback.
