Tamil Nadu former BJP Chief and former IPS officer Annamalai was once a hard-core BJP activist and Modi and Shah’s follower. But things have changed over the due course. Annamalai parted ways and he started a new independent movement called “We The Leader”.
Now with the growing dissent against recent issues like the SIR and the growing demand of the CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and with opposition parties and youth hitting the roads against the Centre, the BJP-led union government is allegedly acting against the dissent.
Annamalai has hit out at the Centre for trying to muzzle the voices rising against the issues. That’s not all. Annamalai quoted Narendra Modi’s old comments when he was the Gujarat CM and he raised his voice against the then UPA government led by the Congress. Quoting those remarks, Annamalai smartly cornered Modi and Shah.
In a very lengthy post, Annamalai raised several key topics including burning Cockroach effigy during Ravan Dahan as part of the Dussehra and giving free publicity to CJP.
Annamalai asked some “uncomfortable” questions to the Centre and asked them replies instead of “resorting to whataboutism”. Starting with Jantar Mantar denotifying as the protest site with the Ministry of Home Affairs standing order after CJP sought permission to conduct protest at the site to NEET paper leak issues, Annamalai went onto corner the Centre.
Coming such critical comments from Annamalai is certainly a big blow to BJP and its government. Already BJP is in neck-deep trouble with growing anti-incumbency. This is certainly a nail in the coffin. Let’s hope BJP would act cautiously and take immediate damage control steps.
