Survey: Telangana Is Much Better Than Andhra in Civic Sense

Telangana has performed significantly better than Andhra Pradesh in the India Today Gross Domestic Behaviour Survey 2025, according to the rankings shared online. Telangana secured 13th place, while Andhra Pradesh stood at 20th among the listed states and regions.

The survey reportedly considers factors such as civic sense, public safety, gender attitudes and social behaviour to assess how people behave in society.

The seven-place gap puts Telangana ahead of Andhra Pradesh in the overall rankings. However, the results also suggest that both Telugu states have considerable scope to improve their civic behaviour and social responsibility.

Tamil Nadu topped the list, followed by West Bengal and Odisha. Kerala ranked fifth, while Karnataka stood at 18th. Gujarat and Punjab occupied the bottom two positions.

The rankings are a reminder that civic sense goes beyond education and economic development. Respecting public spaces, following traffic rules, maintaining cleanliness and treating others responsibly are important aspects of everyday life.

While Telangana has a clear advantage over Andhra Pradesh in this survey, the rankings alone do not explain the reasons behind the difference.
